When kids make you proud!

Last Saturday was a lot of fun because we got to watch the kids and applaud their hard work.  Parker ended the season with a goal and two assists.  He played really well this season. Megan also had her dance recital this weekend. She has done really well on her team this year and it was fun to see her perform her ballet, jazz and tap numbers.

Schools out!

I can't believe school is out for the year!  It was so fun to go to the kids awards ceremonies and cheer them on.  Parker and Megan both got great grades.  Megan also got an award for good citizenship and musicianship.  Colton received an attendance award.  The last day of school was so fun.  I greeted the kids at the end if the day with candy necklaces.  I decorated the house with orange balloons and streamers and we had an "orange you glad it's summer party."  We made our own pizzas and went to the drive in with friends to see epic and eat orange treats and drink orange fanta.

Field Day!!

Colton and Megan had a blast at field day this year.  There was a plethora of water games and Colton amazed everyone with his hoola hooping skills.

Disneyland!

Disneyland was a blast this year.  We went with Grandma Bird and our friends, the Kelloggs.  Some highlights included getting wet on Splash Mountain, riding the Nemo ride with a bunch of friends from Vegas, eating ice cream on the pier in California Adventure, enjoying the new Cars Land and watching grandma's Shakespearen hand puppet plays and playing the animal game in the car.

Parker's spring band concert

Parker had his spring middle school band concert tonight. He did so awesome! We got to see him play the cymbals, the snare drum and the tambourine. We are so proud of how much he has learned and improved this year

Megan's 9th birthday

Megan had a really fun birthday this year. In the morning Grandma Bird and I took her to see Beauty and the Beast at the Smith Center. In the afternoon we had a spa birthday party complete with pedicures, facials, flip flop embellishing and making lip gloss. The girls had a blast and ate yummy cupcakes and candy nail polish (made from a chocolate dipped marshmallow with a tootsie roll on top. The evening was dedicated to family fun with pizza, ice cream and a cake shaped like nail polish. It was a busy a fun filled day!

Easter Sunday

Easter was both interesting and low key at our house this year.  The kids enjoyed getting up and looking at their Easter baskets and then we all got ready for church.  I was trying to get the Easter feast ready to go for later so I only ended up with 20 mins to get ready for church--argh, why does that always happen!  Anyway, just as we got Laynee in her pretty dress she threw up all over herself and Brian!  YIKES!  Well, we hurried and cleaned everyone up and ran to church.  Laynee was fussy the whole time and Colton was on one.  When it was time for the primary kids to sing he wouldn't go up so I tried to coax him.  He ended up flopping on the ground in the aisle and I dragged him up...embarrassing!!  Anyway, he just sat on the stairs and made faces the whole time.  Needless to say between the two youngest kids I did NOT feel much of the spirit of Easter.  We did have a yummy Easter lunch, much needed naps and watched "Hop" together.  Hopefully next year goes a bit smoother.
