New Year's Eve!!

New Year's Eve was a super fun night with yummy food, games, New Year's countdown, poppers and horns.  We are excited for a new year to begin!!!

Christmas 2015

Christmas was small but joyful this year.  We enjoyed opening presents, a yummy breakfast, relaxing and movies and games and fun.  It was a wonderful day.

The Nutcracker

We have an annual tradition of attending the Nutcracker Ballet right before Christmas with Megan.  (Hopefully we will be able to take Laynee too in a few years).  As always it was a magical night and really got us in a great Christmas spirit!!

Parker's First Guitar Concert

December is certainly a fun time to see the kids play in all of their music concerts.  This year Parker took guitar for the first time and it was fun to see him play in his first concert.  It was also fun to watch Brian conduct!  Parker's Intermediate guitar class played Carol of the Bells, Silent Night and Pat a Pan.  He did a great job.

Megan's Orchestra Concert

Megan's had her first winter orchestra concert.  It was so fun to see her play her violin for the first time.  The orchestra played Good King Wenceslas, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and First Scale March.  Way to go Megan!!!

First Place Hockey Finish

Parker's Hockey team finished in first place this season.  He played very well this season and he is an extremely fast skater!!

Band Christmas Concert

We enjoyed Parker's winter band concert on December 10th.  We got to hear him rock out with the jazz band (he got to play the drum set on Antigua).  And it was awesome to hear him play with the Symphonic Band.  My favorite was hearing him play the snare on Christmas Fanfares.

Megan's Christmas Dance Show "Elf"

This year Megan's Christmas Dance show was "Elf" at the Cashman Theater.  The show was really cute and Megan got to perform in a tap dance to the song "Nobody Cares About Santa."  She wasn't a huge fan of dancing in an adult sized Santa suit but she looked great....beard and all!

The Live Nativity

We decided to try something new this year and try the live Nativity in St. George at Tuacahn.  It was very cold but we really enjoyed it.  The lights in the trees and the fountain was so pretty.  The live nativity was awesome and our particular favorites were the very cute camels, the angels and the amazing music.  The background of the red rock mountains made everything look very authentic.  We also had fun riding on the the "Old Salty" train after the performance.

Zion's Youth Performance

Parker auditioned and was selected to be a percussionist for the Zion's Youth Symphony Orchestra.  We were able to go see his performance tonight with Gentri.  My favorite song was one he played the snare drum.  It was so awesome to go see him perform in an amazing venue like the Smith Center

Marching band season

Parker had a great marching band season in 2015.  He played the bass drum in their show "Event Horizon" which had an alien theme.  The whole band even sang in one section of the show!  Parker also enjoyed playing for football games and traveling to play in band competitions.

Last game of soccer season

Colton had the last game of his soccer season.  They didn't have a perfect record this time, but they did have a lot of fun playing together.

Brian's Birthday

Brian's birthday was a very busy day full of kids activities and music rehearsals.  We did find a moment to have ice cream cake!!

Open house at the dance studio

The girls had open house at their dance studio the second week in November.  We really enjoyed going into their classrooms and watching them dance.  Megan is a member of the Odyssey dance club team this year and the girls on her team range in age from 12-17.  We enjoyed watching ballet, tap, contemporary and jazz.  Laynee is in a cute musical movement class.  We had fun watching her do a cute reindeer dance for Christmas.
