Trick or treat!
We had a really fun Halloween this year.  Our ward trunk or treat was the same night as Halloween so we headed off to party in the early evening.  Dinner was soup and bread bowls and the kids had fun doing a costume parade.  Then it was off to trunk or treat in the parking lot.  The kids loaded up on candy, but the night was young, so we continued the trick or treat fun in our neighborhood.  We finished up the night by climbing into our jammies and watching a Harry Potter movie.  Oh and munching on a little of that CANDY!

Carving Pumpkins

Megan loves the guts!

Those pumpkins are going to be squeaky clean

Dad gets in on the act

And we have Lord Voldemort, Jack Skelington and Sonic the Hedgehog
The pumpkin carvers were pretty self-sufficient this year.  Everyone cleaned out their pumpkins with minimal help from Dad.  They all had great ideas for pumpkin faces and had lots of fun carving them out.  Laynee was cute as supervisor!

Fun at the Corn Maze

Sliding on the corn slide
We had a fun trip to St. George to the corn maze this fall.  The kids enjoyed the jumper, petting the baby animals, the corn slide and the cow train.  As usual, we were lost for a while in the maze and emerged just as the sun was going down.  After a yummy pizza dinner, we headed home.

Colton's Soccer

Waiting for a chance to go back in

Colton and his friend Caleb.  They both scored two goals!

The sharks!
Colton wanted a chance to try soccer this season so we let him give it a go.  His favorite was playing forward and he was able to run fast enough to put the pressure on and score several goals.  He was also quite a good defense man and had some really amazing kicks.  His team finished up the season undefeated!  Go SHARKS!

Anniversary Staycation

Looking cool CSI style!

Yummy crepes!

Breakfast at the Paris

The top of the Eiffel Tower

Gondola ride at the Ventian

Brian and I had an amazing staycation this year for our Anniversary.  We stayed down on the strip and were able to enjoy some fun, touristy stuff that we don't normally get to do.  The first night we went to the CSI experience, which was awesome, and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.  The next day we walked down to the Paris for some yummy crepes for breakfast and a ride up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.  After a Gondola  ride at the Ventian, we took the tram back to our hotel and spent some relaxing time at the pool.  Then it was off to the Cheesecake factory for dinner and to see the Cirque show "Ka".  It was awesome!

Breaking Han Solo out of the "carbonite"

Light saber cake

Colton had a really fun Star Wars themed birthday party this year.  We started out the night with yummy food like Hutt dogs, Boba-Q chips, 7 Leia Dip and Vader-ade.  The kids then made their own light sabers out of pool noodles and played keep the Death Star in the air with a balloon.  After all the balloons were popped, we broke Han Solo out of the carbonite and had a Death Star pinata.  The night ended with a viewing of the Star Wars movie in our back yard.  Fun was had by all.

First Day of School

Big 8th grader

Spunky 5th grader

Cute 2nd grader

The first day of school went well for the kids.  We had maple bars that looked like rulers for breakfast and then it was off to the first day.  Everyone seems to like their new teachers and enjoyed seeing all their friends.  After some yummy alphabet soup for dinner it was homework and bed.  It's nice to be back on a schedule again!
