Part 2 of our day on the strip included a visit to the gardens at the Bellagio.  It was really nicely decorated with a summer theme of kites, snails, birds and a tree house.  We then went outside to watch the fountains.  Laynee was less than thrilled, but the rest of us enjoyed it.

Since Grandma Bird was in town, we took a fun trip down to the strip to check things out.  First stop, The Shark Reef, where we saw many different kinds of fish, sharks, turtles, crocodiles, jelly fish, rays, etc.  The kids had a lot of fun watching the fish and hanging out at the "touch pool" to get a first hand look at some rays.

We had a really fun July Forth this year.  We started off the morning with some homemade star shaped donuts..yum.  Then it was off to a friend's pool for some awesome swimming on a hot day.  Once we were all worn out, we went home to rest and watch the movie "Independence Day."  The night was capped off with a yummy patriotic-themed BBQ and fireworks.  What a fun day!

Parker and Colton both had good hockey seasons.  This was Colton's first time playing up in the regular league and he was definitely challenged.  Parker had fun playing goalie for one of the lower teams and playing a fast paced game in his regular league.

For a play group a few weeks ago we headed to the children's museum to play.  The favorites were the Magic School Bus weather area and, as usual, the water room.

We went on a very fun Bird family vacation this summer to Bryce Canyon in Utah.  We stayed in really cute little cabins and had a lot of fun hiking, swimming, exploring, cooking on the campfire, playing cards, and going on a wagon ride.
