First Day of School

Here they are...all ready to go!
My big 4th grader!
My silly 1st grader!
All the troops togethter...aren't they cute!

Today was the first day of school.  The kids were excited to go back and I was VERY excited for them to go back....no more "I'm bored" sounding throughout the house, no more fighting, no more re-runs of Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, etc, no more endless games of Wii with Dad, no more messes all over the house...no more...wait a minute, it's too quiet...I miss them...

Colton's 3rd Birthday!

Colton and his train cake
Yay...tractor!!
Don't you wish all kids were this excited about getting gifts?

Yesterday was Colton's 3rd birthday.  I can't believe he is that old!  Seems like he was born just the other day.  We had cake and ice cream and opened presents.  He got tractors and other vehicles, balls, clothes, and Thomas the Tank Engine videos...and he loved them all.  Happy birthday little guy!

San Diego's Land of Legos...and Swimming at the Beach

The horse ride....one of the favorites

Brian's Baywatch moment...

Parker boogie boarding.....

We decided to take one last summer trip to San Diego before school starts. It was our first visit to Legoland and the kids had a lot of fun. Their favorite was riding on the little lego racers, getting wet on the pirate ride and seeing the mini lego cities. We were also able to spend a day at La Jolla Beach. We all got very sunburned, but had lots of fun playing in the sand and surf and boogie boarding.

Annual Trip to Utah and Idaho

Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point
Parker's birthday...camping in Oregon

Megan riding horses with her cousin Devon

Colton's permanant seat in Idaho
We had a lot of fun on our annual visits to our families this year. In Utah we had a fun swim day and picnic at my Grandmas condo. After that we were able to head to the Museum of Ancient Life with my mom, my brothers and their families. Colton was scared of the dinosaurs but the other kids had a blast. I think the favorite was the sand and water erosion table....water and dirt, can't beat that! We were also able to spend a week in Idaho with Brian's family. The kids ran wild on the farm, playing with cousins, riding horses and four wheelers and driving tractors (well at least Parker did supervised but Grandpa and Dad). We were also able to spend a few days camping at the family reunion in Oregon. Lots of swimming, dutch oven cooking, s'mores and chubby bunny! What more could we ask for?

Swim lessons and 4th of July

Cute kids in their patriotic finery!

The kids all had swim lessons this year and all passed with flying colors. Colton is ready for the preschool class on his own next year and the other two kids are swimming like little fishies! We had a good time on the fourth of July. My mom came to visit and we had a BBQ and did our own fireworks. There were also plenty of other great fireworks to watch from the casinos (and neighbors who must have done their firework shopping on the res) Colton was really scared of the loud fireworks and Brian and I had to take turns sitting with him in the house and watching out the window.

Trip to Moab

Colton and I at Delicate Arch...what a hike!

The family at Arches National Park

Parker and Megan at the cabin.....

In June we took a fun family vacation to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah with my brothers and their families. We stayed in cute cabins at the KOA and hiked all over the place! It was really pretty and we had a good time.

Parker's Hockey Tournament

Oh man...fourth place! The face says it all!

The Bandits........................and coach Todd
Parker has really gotten into playing hockey this year. We are glad that he has finally found a sport that he likes to play. He had a really good first season and scored 2 goals. He is really looking forward to next season.
