Easter Festivities

Fun with eggs

A cute chick and an egg
Don't you just love all of the Easter festivites?  Egg hunts and easter egg dyeing (complete with the tie-dyed counter, floor and sink you end up with afterwards), lots of smiles and sugared up kids....I wouldn't trade it for anything.  Holidays are just more fun with kids...nuff said!

Megan's 7th Birthday

Cute girl and her ballerina cupcakes

Cute ballerina cake

Make a wish!!
I can't believe my baby girl is now seven years old!  Megan's birthday just happened to fall during spring break this year.  We decided to make things easy and go for the bounce house rental again.  Megan invited some of her girl friends over in the afternoon.  The girls jumped, made bracelets and ate cupcakes.  Later that evening we had some friends over for more bouncing fun, pizza, rootbeer, cake and ice cream.  Megan claims it was the best day ever!!

Fun show on the strip!

Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe

Playing the recycled drums at the Recycled Percussion show
Brian and I were able to go on a fun night out with our friends Christine and Ricardo.  We started the night out with a yummy dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.  The natives were definately restless that night.  All those loud and wiggly monkeys reminded me of eating out with our kids....well maybe not exactly!  After dinner we went to a fun show called "Recycled Aluminum."  It was an awesome interactive show and we enjoyed playing our makeshift drums with the band.  Brian got called up up on stage to do a drumming competition, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that.  We topped the night off with Cold Stone.  Fun was had by all.

Ward Talent Show

What good dance form!!

She is such a graceful dancer!

The Beatles medley

We had a ward talent show in March.  It was so much to see the variety of talents that are in our ward.  Our whole family was able to participate in various ways.  First, Megan did a dance to the song "Fireflies."  She choreographed the whole thing herself and did a wonderful job.  It was very impressive for a 6 year old!!  Brian did a Beatles medley on guitars with his friend Ricardo.  They had a lot of fun and got everyone singing along.  I did a mom's version of Bohemian Rhapsody with two of my mom friends in the ward, but we didn't get any pictures of that.  Apparently everyone loved my air guitar solo!  The whole family was in this one....from Brian on guitar, to the kids running around on stage.  It was a lot of fun.

Another season of Roller Hockey comes to an end

Parker and his team

Winner of the season's MVP award

In his element
Parker had a really good hockey season.  He was one of the top scorers and leaders in assists.  His team ended up winning 2nd place and Parker won the MVP award for the season in his division.  He was also chosen to play on the All-Star Team against the older kids.  Way to go Parker!!!

Leatherworking

Cub Scout Day Camp was held early in March this year.  The first few days were rather cold, but the last day was a beautiful saturday.  As usual, Parker and his cub scout friends enjoyed 3 fun-filled days of BB Guns, Archery, Leatherworking, wood working, a bird show, games, cooking and lots of fun.  My sweet husband also vounteered to help teach the music class this year and spent a lot of time with the cubs.

Valentine's Day!!

Megan and her butterfly valentines

Parker and his ipod valentines

Two cute kids!!
We had a lot of fun for Valentine's Day this year.  The kids had parties in their classrooms and we made homemade valentines for their friends.  Megan wanted a butterfly with a pack of gum for the body, and Parker decided on an ipod made from a box of conversation hearts.  For dinner we had our traditional heart shaped pizzas with chocolate fondue for dessert.
